Padmasambhava, known as Guru Rinpoche, is the powerful Lotus Buddha who dispels all obstacles and worldly problems. Padmasambhava was a teacher who converted the people of Tibet to Buddhism. He was a scholar, meditator, and thought to be a magician too. Guru Rinpoche is excellent for those who find it hard to concentrate. Reciting his mantra transforms difficulties into opportunities for growth and learning.
Om: Often regarded as being the primeval sound, and in fact the sound-symbol of reality itself. It represents the universal principle of enlightenment.
Ah: Traditionally said to be connected with speech in Sanskrit, "ah" is a verb meaning "to express, signify, or to call by name". Here it suggests evoking, or calling forth, the manifestation of enlightenment.
Hum: Represents the manifestation of enlightenment in the individual human being. Often these syllables are associated with body, speech, and mind respectively.
Vajra: Means thunderbolt, and represents the energy of the enlightened mind. It can also mean diamond. The implication is that the diamond/thunderbolt can cut through anything. The vajra also stands for compassion. In esoteric Buddhism compassion is active, and therefore aligned with this masculine symbol.
Guru: Means a teacher. Padmasambhava is highly regarded in Tibetan Buddhism as a great teacher and is often referred to as a Buddha.
Padma: Means lotus, referring to the purity of the enlightened mind. The lotus flower, although growing in muddy water, is completely stainless. The lotus represents wisdom. The receptive nature of the flower gives it a "feminine" status in esoteric Buddhism, and the lotus is aligned with the "feminine" quality of wisdom.
Siddhi: One who has accomplishment or supernatural powers. Wisdom and great teachings.

Om Ah Hum
(Healing, balance of mind and heart)
-
Buddha
-
Healing, balance, blessing, connect mind and heart
-
This is a Tibetan Buddhist Chant. The "Om Ah Hum", the Mantra of Blessing, frequently precedes the recitation of other mantras. The sounds Om, Ah, and Hum are individual Sanskrit seed syllables. It implies a trinity and union of three things. In Buddhism the trinity is that of body (kaya), sound or speech (vak), and Spirit or Mind (citta). The perfect state of being of each of these three bodies is symbolized by the three words of Om Ah Hum. The Body is not only the physical body of man but also the entire material dimension of the individual. The Sound is the life energy of the body, known as prana. This mantra with hand movements helps connect our heart and mind with spirit.
Notes: Visualize golden light
Often combined with Anjali mudra (Namaste)
Om A Ra Pa Ca Na Dhih
(Perfection of Wisdom)
-
Manjushri
-
Wisdom
-
The individual syllables A RA PA CA and NA have no translatable meaning. They are syllabary and are believed to have symbolic connections with different spiritual qualities.
From the "Large Sutra of Perfect Wisdom" (adapted from Conze):
A - Leads to the insight that the essence of all things is unproduced.
RA - Leads to the insight that all things are pure and free of defilements.
PA - Leads to the insight that all dharmas have been "expounded in the ultimate sense."
CA - Leads to the insight that the arising and ceasing of things cannot be apprehended because in reality there is no arising of ceasing.
NA - Leads to the insight that although the names for things change the nature of things behind their names cannot be gained or lost.
DIHI - This is often defined as “prayer” or “understanding” or “reflection.”
These are all important concepts in the Perfection of Wisdom.

Maranatha Mantra
(Come Lord)
-
"Ma" with inhalation
"Ra" with exhalation
"Na" with inhalation
"Tha" with exhalation -
Jesus
-
This is a Christian meditation mantra that has been used for and by the early monks, though it is little known as a mantra practice.
It is the mantra "Maranatha". The word "Maranatha" is the final instruction of St. Paul's teachings to the Corinthians, and is St. John's final instruction in the Book of Revelations. Thus, the last word, the final teaching of the entire Christian Bible is "Maranatha" which is Aramaic and means, "Come Lord".
Mara-natha and Maran-atha: When the word Maranatha is parsed (broken into parts) as "mara-natha" or "maran-atha", it has two different meanings: As "mara-natha", it means "Come Lord" or "Lord Come". As "maran-atha", it means "Lord is Here" or "Lord has Come".
Mantra with breath: While the mantra may be done completely in the mind field, it also coordinates nicely with the breath when remembered silently as Ma-Ra-Na-Tha, with each of the four parts remembered separately -- Ma (inhale), Ra (exhale), Na (inhale), Tha (exhale)
Mantra without following the breath: Simply chant the mantra in your mind or out loud as you use your mala beads.

(May all beings be happy and free)
-
Low-KAH Suh-mus-TAH Soo-kee-NO Buh-vahn-TOO
-
Happiness, freedom, harmony and blessings for all of creation
-
This Hindu and Buddhist chant, "May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all." We chant for our own personal transformation, not because we personally desire enlightenment, but rather so that we may contribute to the global transformation that will alleviate suffering and herald equality. By working for the well-being for others we benefit ourselves, and through our own fulfillment we become capable of sharing or bringing well being to others.
Lokah - People or universe
Samastah - All beings living in the same location
Sukhino - Free from suffering, centered in happiness
Bhav - The state of unified existence or the divine mood
