Key to the development of loving kindness and compassion. This is a chant (not a mantra) in Pali used in Theravada Buddhism.
Sabbe = all
Sattā = beings
Sukhi = happy, well
Hontu = may they be
From the Patisambhidamagga (patisambhidā-; Pali for "path of discrimination") is a Buddhist scripture, part of the Pali Canon of Theravada Buddhism. Tradition ascribes it to the Buddha's disciple Sariputta. It comprises 30 chapters on different topics. This chant and "Sukhī Attānam Pariharāmi" are practiced to develop loving kindness, compassion, and true friendship for the reciter.
